Bold and earthy! Natural, un-aged, sun-heated, sun-baked, un-processed salt. Salt Table Black Truffle Salt, just like its name suggests, is a salt that is black in color. It is natural and isn't processed or flavored artificially by any means. The black coloring comes from the natural mineral crystals that have been found within the earth's crust.
All-natural, no chemicals, no artificial flavors. A big selling point for salt is the fact that it is all-natural and chemical-free. This is important because many artificial ingredients that are used in commercial sea salt and table salts are actually harmful to your health. The black truffle salt naturally has minerals like potassium and magnesium. These minerals are what make the salt appealing and give it that rich, salty feel.
A long way from the popcorn we grew up with, did our palates finally learn to love popcorn? Of course not. Fresh black truffles go stale quickly so keep them in the freezer until you need them. They're almost impossible to find in the store so this is a great, cheap alternative.
Of course, sea salt isn't the only way to enhance your taste and add extra flavor to your meals. Did you know you can actually season the meats you cook with your own spices? For instance, while pork is often seasoned with salt, did you know black truffle can be used as well? Sprinkle it right into your pork chop or beef stew and watch it bring out the flavor within.
Speaking of beef and pork, sausages make great snacks and a great addition to soups and stews. Just like with pork, you can sprinkle it right into your meat when you're done cooking it. Add it to a beef stew, chili, soup, or stew with onion and garlic. You can finish your meal with a little bit of the black truffle salt for that salty, earthy flavor.
This product comes in three different forms, which include a tablespoon, a cube, and a bag. It comes in three different colors as well, so now you can decide if you'd like to just use it for seasoning or have a full meal with it. I haven't tried it in a restaurant yet, but I'm assuming it's going to work the same as the regular salt because it does go well with a lot of different dishes. If you love pasta, then this might be a perfect addition to your pantry. The high heat will seal in the flavors as well as make your pasta taste better.
For starters, I think the best way to use this product is in soups or stews. It has a slightly salty taste that compliments almost any pasta dish. My favorite meals are meals that have black beans or spinach (especially summer! ), mushrooms, and onion.
In addition to using it in soups, stews, and pasta recipes, you can also sprinkle it on top of hotdogs and hamburgers. My kids love this product and sometimes I'll leave a little sprinkle on top and they think it's actually a trick. It works! I've seen people add it to white fish in order to make it taste like salmon. It adds a wonderful, salty flavor to fish. I would stay away from adding it to turkey though because it can make the meat taste bitter.
If you're not a big fan of black truffles, then maybe you'd like to try a black truffle ice cream recipe. You can make delicious ice cream with just two ingredients black truffle salt and an ice cream machine. You simply add the salt to the machine and turn it on. Now all you have to do is pour in your frozen yogurt and make your creamy ice cream. It's so easy to make, and the kids will come back for more after they see how good it is!
