Partial Dentures– Partial dentures can be used in place of other tooth replacement options when the surrounding teeth are weak enough to support structures like dental bridges or when more than one tooth is missing.
To prevent them from falling out, the partial dentures fit the gum line. These partial dentures are removable and can be removed at any time, for cleaning or while you sleep.
Full Dentures- Full dentures are also known as complete dentures. They replace all your natural teeth. They can be fitted to your top or bottom teeth. The dentures are held in place with suction and/or an oral adhesive. They can be easily removed, just like partial dentures.
Immediate Denture- One type is called immediate dentures. They can be used immediately after the extractions and during the healing process which can take up to six months.
These dentures are more flexible than permanent dentures and can be re-fitted to adjust for changes in your mouth as the swelling in your gums and jaws subsides. Once the healing is complete, your mouth will be ready for permanent dentures.
Overdentures- The traditional dentures prove too uncomfortable or you have very few natural teeth, then overdentures can be an option. If there aren't any natural teeth, overdentures can be fitted over the roots of your natural teeth.
They can either rest on them or have a dental implant if necessary. This type of denture is more comfortable for some people and can be easily removed.
It is always advisable to remove any kind of denture before sleep to avoid damaging them, dislodging them, and to give your gums some time to relax
